Hey all, just wondering if anyone attends any of the outdoor expos out west or anywhere during the year. I am contemplating going to one or two next year and was looking for opinions on any that are worth the time? Feedback would be appreciated.

I have been to ISE shows and they are ok. I really want to go to the Sheep show, way more gear vendors.

SHEEP show in Reno! If you go please join the Wild Sheep Foundation! It'll be the best $45 bucks you spend! Besides we'll have a Eastsmans meet and great and why not a beer!

I was lucky a few years ago to have an elk on the RMEF Great Elk Tour so I made it a point to go to one of the shows on the tour and I picked ISE in SLC.. Not to sound like a groupie, but it was a great chance to meet Guy and Ike Eastman and also Roger Selner. All were really nice, regular guys who were easy to approach and fun to talk hunting with. There were some good hunting seminars too (one by Guy) and no shortage of booths at these huge shows.

I went to the SCI convention when it was in Reno several years ago. I spent 4 days there and probably didn't see it all. The Custom Gun Makers Guild and custom knife makers guild were in Reno too and were great to see also. It made me realize that I didn't work hard enough at earning money in my life.

If you ever wanted to book a hunt for bucktoothed wombats or almost anything else that may walk the earth, there will be someone at the SCI convention that will be happy to sell you a hunt for it!

I used to work for Arricks Fly Shop and in the winter we went and did the ISE shows. We would leave from W. Yellowstone to Portland, OR, then to Sacremento, CA., San Mateo, CA., Seattle, WA, and finished in Denver, CO. This was mid 90's and Salt Lake wasn't one of the stops yet. I loved doing these shows and seeing all the outfits and outfitters. Even though I was there for the fly fishing side of things it was still awesome. This was before I was really in to western big game hunting, so I don't remember a lot about the hunting outfits. But if I remember correctly the Eastman's would come do a big seminar at the Denver show. Just so you know for guys like us this is like a kid at Christmas! Just so much to see and hear and watch. Good stuff! I say pick any of the big shows and just go, you'll have fun. I think the sheep show would be cool, but high dollar for the most part.

I have been trying to go to this for a few years now, even bought tickets online once. But, every year something comes up and I can't make it. If work falls on those dates in 2016, I may take vacation to go.

RMEF elk camp...and NFR rodeo finals in vegas...They teamed up last year and i heard it was a great turnout...If my work hitch falls around that time i will definitely be attending and competing the the world elk calling championships! I love going to vegas for the rodeo finals anyway, now that RMEF and the elk calling championships are there, I cant really convince myself a trip to vegas is not needed....
