Planning a backpack OTC archery hunt in August. What are the possibilities of bears and what have you done to avoid them? Looking at Unitah and or Nine mile creek range.
As far as the Uinta's I wouldn't worry to bad about bears I have hunted them all my life and rarely run into a bear, they are there but if you keep a clean camp you shouldn't worry.
I spent a lot of time in the Uintah unit helping my friend look for elk this fall. Never saw a bear but plenty of sign. I also fish the lakes up their all summer and I have never ran into one.
