A lot of you know I am an aerospace retiree & junkie. I follow our current efforts closely. The Orion was launched and recovered this morning. It is our next spacecraft replacing the Shuttle (which I helped design & build). Looks like an overgrown Apollo to me, which was the first program I worked on after graduating from College in 1963. I spent 40 years designing and building airplanes and spacecraft. Loved my job and looked forward to going to work ALMOST everyday.

Good job and Mars is next!

Very cool stuff to say the least. I'd say we are honored to have such a great patriot on the forum, the stuff you have been involved with is such an important part of our county's history.

What he said^^^. The Orion project is pretty cool. What do you think is the timeframe on a Mars landing CC?

Our current NASA leadership and Oval Office management has set no official landing target date.. My guess would be no sooner than 20 years. When we had a goal of a 1969 lunar landing, we had lots of money and plenty of talent to get the job done within the time frame. I'm not so sure today.
