It is a rip off, impossible odds, unlikely outcomes and I hope I draw my three tags. Think about it, in Oregon terms; you ever chip in on the Access and Habitat tag lottery? I have, got a third place letter once, for a packet or two of chances. If you split the demand among a ton of units with only one chance each?... First year they are offered, I bet there are a number who have zero awareness, so for me, the first year, I'm in for all three, in moderate demand units...

The season dates can make an average hunt excellent. Choose wisely and may the odds be ever in your favor. I wish the EF had a restrict to members only option we could use selectively, as I almost did not want to offer my two cents on a public forum. I may be wrong, probably am, so my final answer is do not apply, it is another revenue scheme, a ripoff. In the immortal words of UH, friends don't let friends hunt Oregon.

It wouldn't surprise me if the premium hunt has better odds for antelope that the regular contorted hunt with zero points. I'm in for all three critters. Kids are in for deer

im looking at it as basically a raffle ticket entry and about the same odds,,,hate to give Oregon another $24 for 3 chances, but somebody gots to win it?im gonna try a mediocre unit to see if my odds are better than the primo units,,,im guessing approx. 500-1 odds,,,this is definitely a way for Oregon to drum up more money from us suckers.

Odds are slim to none, but they are zero if you don't apply. I think it is the best bang for your buck for a really good tag if you look at your options (auction, raffle, premium series). Everyone has the chance and for $24, its not a huge hit to the bank account...I will have to buy one less case of beer this year.

oops, I mean they are horrible, you should stay away at all costs. Just trying to increase my chances!

I don't think any of you should waste your money:). For me I'll gladly throw in another $24.00 bucks for three more chances (even a slim chance) to hunt here in OR. Kind of fun trying to figure out how many people will put in for which units.

It's the same reason millions of people buy powerball lotto tickets when the odds of them winning are 45 million to 1.

Folks,

So you know some of the money that is raised by these tags are going directly to winter range enforcement for mule deer. The bucks are getting hammered on winter range and we will be putting out extra patrols to work on this issue. So you may not draw a tag, but you will be helping mule deer bucks when they are most vulnerable.

Hell no. Nonresident here who got suckered into the Ponzi scheme 2 decades ago, only to get thrown under the bus later via their 2 1/2% quota. I've already given away far too many $160/year charity checks for absolutely nothing in return. Second worst investment of my life, next to my parasitic unemployed ex. I don't need to be throwing any additional gasoline into this dumpster fire.

keep in mind that money towards tags can be used as a tax write off..... it goes to a great cause. Idaho does something like this with the super hunt, you can put your name in the hat as many times as you would like.
