Hunting was not included as a management tool in the Oregon approved management plan. There will be no hunting for a long long time.

Always a touchy subject and people are usually on one side of the fence or the other not a lot in between. I am glad we get to hunt them here in idaho but i dont think we make a dent in the population from what hunters harvest every fall.

I second that shootbrownelk.would rather hear an elk anyday of the week than a wolf howl.

I have heard them both a wolfs howl is a sound of nature that we really shouldn't loose but they also need to be managed by someone that knows how to manage them and not those that think that they need to overrun the country side. An elks bugle is also something that I can sit and listen to all night and day long, it is just magic in the air.
