Opening weekend success?

Hey all,

Anybody have any luck on opening weekend of archery? We got on a nice 6x6 on Sunday in the national forest in the beartooths, couldn't quite close the distance due to a wise old sentry cow but exciting none the less. Heard some decent bugles, just nothing coming aggresive to the call yet.

Heard the snow came on sun up in the belt areas. Buddy had a cow come in while he was taking care of business, no bow in hand. That's hunting though

Heading out for two and a half weeks Tuesday!!! Ready to get after them.

Went out this past Tuesday-Wednesday. Didn't hear anything bugle but saw a 5x5 and spike near camp. It's my first year elk hunting so I'm not sure how to gauge it yet. Good luck all!

Will be leaving in the morning to pick up Danny then on our way to Montana!! Long drive ahead of us.

Don't know if it was the weather front that moved in yesterday or what but the bulls were going crazy where I was. Best rut action I've seen in years!!
