One week till I am on the road.

One week from today I will be hitting the road for Wyoming. It is 7 years in the making. I am starting to see all kinds of critters in my mind and finding it hard to sleep. I have went over my gear and list several times. A guy needs a lot of stuff for a two week hunting trip. I have studied maps and the area so much I feel like I have been there before. I would also like to venture out and see some of the state while I am there.
One thing on my bucket list is to go to a 6 man football game. I plan to go to the Kaycee VS Midwest game. They both seem to be having a good season. I see Kaycee is two time defending State champs.
I also hope to blend in and not stand out to bad. Being from Arkansas I will have to keep quite or they will know after a couple words come out of my mouth.

Anything you guys can think of a Arkansas boy shouldn't miss Johnson Natrona county area?

If you like to fish you'll be in a great area.
Don't be afraid to wear your camo coat to the game, and do talk with some locals. You might just find some access for hunting. They will be friendly and like the fact that you came to a local game. You could make some great contacts for future hunts too.

Good luck on your trip. I went out last year antelope hunting for the first time. I have the bug now. Leaving for a mule deer hunt with a partner in a week.

Good luck on your hunt. I've been doing the same things on the critter and gear end, I leave Saturday. Wyoming is a beautiful state. When the hunting gets frustrating I always try to take a moment and just look at the country I'm in, it's hard to have a bad attitude when I do that. Beautiful doesn't mean easy, often the opposite to me. I love the Midwest but all that big awesome country and the miles of public land where I can pursue what I see is a special thing. A positive attitude never has a negative impact on my hunting either.

I always have to put Ledoux on the CD player and pay my respects to my favorite singer also when driving near Kaycee. He has always been my favorite since Dad had his tapes when I was a kid, and "Just Can't See Him From The Road" is my favorite song. I listen to his son Ned in my area when he plays and have had a beer with him after he is done several times. Great family, met a lot of great people in Wyoming. If I didn't have the family ranch here I'd probably live there.
