Well it is official ck the link

http://cpw.state.co.us/thingstodo/Pages/DrawResults_PreferencePoints.aspx

I drew a archery elk along with my father. 2nd choice for 1st rifle bull for the wife but my brother drew his muzzy bull tag.. I spoke for a lo muzzy deer tag that I might have to give to another person now so I can hunt with him.

Wife also drew a 4th season buck so she is excited to hunt the late season.

So what did the everyone else "officially" draw?

Good luck to all this fall.

Yep, Colorado Parks and Wildlife screwed me up. I have a unit 35 deer muzzle loader tag along with a unit 44 cow elk muzzle loader tag. Who would of thought that a person could draw a unit 35 deer ml tag as a second choice?

It's a good thing that I live in the middle of them.

Drew my 35 3rd rifle deer tag, no luck on archery antelope. So it looks like i will hunt elk during archery and hope i draw my Wyoming antelope tag.
Cant believe you drew that tag JimP as a second choice

The other oddity is that I know of 2 others that drew it as a second choice for ML deer.

It may be a strange year.[/QUOT

Definitely strange thats for sure, good thing is you have easy access to either unit so you can just jump back and forth. Good Luck to you.

That's what I figure. I concentrate on my elk in 44 first and then head up to 35 during the week after all the weekend warriors have gone home.

My only draw this year was antelope. Burned my 14 points (finally) on a unit I scouted in early March. Took 12 to draw it last year. I am pretty excited as I did see a couple of dandy bucks during my scouting trip.

I lucked out and got both my 1st choice Deer and Elk tags. 14 points to draw GMU 44 3rd season Muley, and 10 points to draw GMU 61 1st Season Bull.

I didn't really want to pull both tags in the same year, but there's a slight chance I may have to relocate out of Colorado next year so I decided it was best to burn the points now while I can.

The next couple of months are going to be hectic getting prepared since I've never hunted either unit before (lots of research in my immediate future), but it's a nice problem to have. :D

If anyone has topo maps collecting dust I will gladly buy them.

I can't believe I didn't draw a deer tag. I put in for the early high country hunt in 44/45/444. Unless I read the draw stats incorrectly, last year everyone who put in for that tag with 4 points drew it, and some people with 3 points drew (I'm talking about residents). I was one of the ones who didn't draw last year with 3 points, so thought I had it in the bag this year with 4, but no luck. Didn't draw 2nd choice either, so now waiting for the leftover draw letter. If this years leftover list looks like last years, there's a good chance I will end up with no deer tag. At least I got a 4th rifle season either sex elk tag.

There are a lot of hunters that bank points and then when they decide to go hunting they put in for the unit that they want and draw it.

I did it on my muzzle loader hunt in 61 in 2014 I had 17 points and only needed 15-16 but there were hunters with 15 points that didn't draw. But it was easier for me to plan that way, I knew that I was going to draw that tag. I did the same thing on my 4th season deer tag in unit 44.

There is always next year.

It is a good thing. The ML success rate on bucks only runs 20% in 35, less in 36 and 361. The nice thing is you get in there two weeks earlier than all the archery deer and elk hunters, which is a crowd. Good luck, and let us know how you did.

The draw recap report is out so you can see how many people applied and how many points it took...

I had a similar situation to yours. Last year in the unit I applied for everyone with one point drew and a few with zero points drew too. I was one of the unlucky one's last year so figured I was a shoe in with one point this year. Looking at the report only 55% drew with one point this year. Gotta love point creep!

I just looked at the draw results. How would you like to be the guy the applied with 15 NR PPs and then someone else can pick it up as a leftovers for that unit 35 ML tag.....

Que Sera Sera, Whatever will be will be. A good old Doris Day song.

But on the other hand I would feel like I got shafted royally.

And I have seen it happen elsewhere like in Utah. Hunter A didn't draw a tag in unit XYZ but there were left over archery tags that he didn't know about so they went on sale OTC, they didn't sell out so they changed them to muzzle loader tags, they didn't sell out so they finally changed to general rifle tags and hunters that hadn't even put in for unit XYZ bought them OTC.

You have to love the DOW's of each and every state when they change the rules after the application periods.
