Weather was a big factor, everything tree'd up. Didn't see anything for 2 days then I had to come back to work. The next morning they had a shot opportunity on a 350ish bull, but she wasn't patient. They got to within 85 yards or so of him bedded. When he stood up, he started to browse toward them, so it was clear that the bull didn't have a clue they were there. Sounds like she got nervous that he was going to run off, so she took a quartering to shot and missed.
They continued to hunt the area, even seeing the huge bull she had missed with me, but could never get on him. She ended up passing on a dink bull last day, figured she would wait the 5 years then apply again. She has been bitten by the elk fever bug!!! Wants to go to Idaho now with her dad.
