Well, my dad and I got our early Christmas presents Saturday. We took a guided float trip down the North Platte on what turned out to be a beautiful December day. The "w" word didn't even start until afternoon. We just had an awesome day fishing on the river so I thought I would try to advertise for Wyoming Anglers a little if that is alright. , The website is wyominganglers.com. The guide was very knowledgable about the river and where the fish were. He even rowed back upstream to take another run (or four) at productive drifts before he decided we had better move along to some of his other holes. He was patient with two beginner flyfishermen and had us on fish on the first practice casts. We caught fish all day long for as long as we could keep our lines in the water. They were all rainbows with most being around the 16" range. I caught some dinkers, but they were still fun. We measured two at over 18" and one that jumped like a dang shark out of the water was estimated at 20 or 21". I didn't land that dude, I got a little trout fever when he jumped and tried to horse him, which did not work. Anyway, very good outfit and reasonably priced if anyone was looking. They have a trophy brown run where they go after the real lunkers.

Sounds like a great time! Congrats on a fun trip. I float the north platte as much as I can. There are some huge trout in that fishery!

Sounds like a blast. I'm down further south in the Denver area and hit the south platte when I can. Only been up to Wyoming a few times but they were a blast. I'll keep their name handy.
