North Idaho Hunt

After procuring my hunt around the Dworshak area, I realized my clothing is a bit dated and not what I need for that region.

Having hunted that great state , like Colorado and Montana, there is a World of difference between Texas and Idaho.

Even though I've got rain gear , scent gear, various wool articles etc , it is either old and heavy or simply not adequate after much use.

In terms of budget the questions is which brand ? Believe me I get the scope of the question

So , I've narrowed it down to Sitka or Kuiu because they appear to be the most reasonable though still fairly expensive , Unless I decide to go with a value type like the new Cabelas gear that changes color shade according to temperature.

I'm a fairly big guy , but not overly tall. I've lifted heavily for most of my life and frankly worked myself out of many clothes.

Does Kuiu or Sitka manufacture their clothes according to US standard or is it smaller? For instance is a 3 xl fit more like XL here?

Apologies for the rambling post but any input would be great

I have gear from both Sitka and KUIU, and wear nothing else when hunting out west as they are definitely the best that I own. Both companies are geared for the layering concept, and though everything seems too light to be very warm, when layered for the conditions I am warm, comfortable, and still remain flexible. The systems are set up to fit over each other, such as a XL shell will layer over a XL base layer, and insulated layer. Having said that you really have to just try it all on and see if it works for you. I would have a long conversation with customer service, and then order what you want to try in several sizes. It takes a long time to get some items, so you could possible be out of time before hunting season if you just buy in one size, send it back, reorder, etc. Of course be sure of the return/refund policy before you do this as we are looking a some big $.
