So our group does not have the points to draw where we want to hunt. Knowing how the system works, what would
you possibly suggest doing. Buying points this year for sure. Should we apply anyhow next time around, sit out the drawing or? We cannot agree on what to do. To many options to consider. Thanks in advance

Wyoming rifle hunt. Used our points 2 years ago, 1 hunter passed, some have 2 points, other has 1. Don't really want to apply for the sake of the small chance of getting drawn and have to hunt a unit we did not want to. Leaning towards getting all on same point number and then applying. Until then just hunt a reduced price cow hunt. Numbers are always changing for the draw.

Over to the more experienced crowd but I don't like applying in groups, burnt me more times then not. Guys I hunt with now we just put in as singles, if we draw we do, if not oh well. We still though go along and support the ones that did draw. I know easier said than done cause I live out here. Seems like the older I got the tougher schedules were hard to keep.

I guess it would depend on the unit you are after. Im not sure how you would have a "small chance of getting drawn and have to hunt a unit we did not want to". If you apply for the unit you want you would have a small chance at drawing the unit you want. Wy averages points so Im not sure how ''getting all on same point number and then applying'' would be beneficial of how you would do that without using points or higher point holders not getting points till the lower point holders ketch up. It sounds like you do not understand the draw very well.
