Just had a 6.5 creedmoor built. Trying to decide on optics. Its down to Nightforce ATACR 5-25 FFP or Vortex Razor Gen II 4-27.

If you had to pay full retail for either scope which would you buy?

If you could get one of them at a significant discount which would you buy?

I've used both and it's hard to say that either is better than the other so if money were an issue then buy the less expensive one. The only difference I found was that the NF knobs feel crisper. I have the Razor II because it was able to get a good deal on it.

hands down night force is a way better scope IMHO, i have used both and have never had an issue with a night force and abuse the crap out of it. When i have to send equipment back in i loose 100% confidence in it. When it comes to longrange shooting you need to have 100% confidence in your equipment. Im not say vortex is bad, they are great scopes i just prefer nightforce since i have used them for 8 10 years now and never had one issue yet.

Loveland, CO. was AZ.
Its a personal preference. Both Vortex and Nightforce's scope lineups are outstanding. However, I chose a Vortex Razor 5x20x50 to put atop my .308 target rifle. Good luck. I do not think you will be disappointed in either manufacturer at the $2000.00 price points and above...

Both are great scopes. In the competitive world of the Precision Rifle Series (a link to a PRS blog was mentioned earlier), the Vortex is the heavy favorite. I am fortunate to be offered a military discount by both companies. While I am thankful to both for there generosity, Vortex offers a greater discount. Also, Vortex's no-questioned asked, just send us the parts and tell us the story warranty is hard to beat.
