$110 for a $299 pack sounds like a good deal to me. RMEF is a good group and cause to help ensure the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage too.
I use one of the earlier model J packs of Eberlestock every day during my work week for a weighted training pack, revolving stairs, treadmill at 15% grade, and hiking. I load it up with granite gravel in duct taped up construction bags. I can load it up pretty heavy and it can hold a heavy load of weight.
I'd prefer the belt to have a pull forward cinch pulley system that is easy to adjust to tighten and loosen easy instead of the pull back type but that’s just my preference, liking that option on one of my other non hunting backpacks. I find myself on long hikes having to unlatch the buckle on the belt and tighten so I can get it tight on my hip and doing the same also to loosen it to shift some weight from hip to back and shoulders. I’d like a bit more technical system in load carrying heavy freight but it will carry out an animal for you ok.
I hope you get a lot of good use carrying out some animals using the pack nebugle.
