New Mexico Antelope Tags 2019?

It looks like this year every unit is separate vs. like years past...


Does anyone know if you still will be placed on private land if you draw a rifle tag? or is it public only now?

From what I have read it seems as if your tag is only good for public land only and you won't be placed on a ranch/private land..?

You are correct. You will be allowed to hunt public land within the unit you draw. You will also be allowed to hunt all private within the unit provided you obtain written permission from the landowner. No more assigned ranch

I predict a lot of chaos after the draw results are done and hunters are waiting for ranch assignments that aren't coming. At least for the successful applicants that didn't read the book.

I wonder how wild opening day will be when folks are trying to find public land to hunt.
