Hi Guys!
I recently joined the forum and then quickly posed a question in the antelope forum.....
Feedback from other posts tell me proper protocol would have been to introduce myself first!
I'm a native southern Oregonian. 61 years young and recently retired FEDEX driver.
I love to hunt and fish, but consider myself an elk hunter first and foremost.
I've harvested a number of bull elk, a bunch of deer ( blktl and mule ), one small buck antelope and a
mountain goat in AK many years ago.
I was looking for an archery elk today, but they weren't playing nice. I did see a good number of Blacktail bucks though.
Two are very nice 5x5's ( 4x4 with eye guards ) that I will be looking for this rifle season
It takes way too many years to draw a decent antelope tag here in Oregon, so my party and I are looking to hunt
Wyoming, as early as 2015. We bought a pref pt this year and are trying to research as thoughtfully as possible for
the best options - meaning, accessible public land, a reasonable antelope population and ability to draw the tag with
our meager pref points.
I have subscribed to both Eastman Journals now and I'm hoping that the MRS sections will be helpful.
Any help or advice from our membership is most welcome - and if any of you have questions about hunting Blacktail
deer in S. Ore, I'd be happy to share my knowledge with you.
Hunt hard, be safe. BT53
