Hey all,
I'm new to almost everything that has to do with this forum... First off, I have never used a forum. Second, I have never hunted elk. And last, I am probably one of the youngest guys on here.

Wanted to introduce myself and get to know some of you guys. I'm 19 years old and have been hunting since I was about 8. I grew up chasing whitetail and muleys in north central Washington, then moved to Ohio a few years ago. Decided to pick up a bow for the first time and hunt from a treestand (not particularly a fan). Last year I came to school out here in Idaho and got engaged this summer. Long story short, I'll be in Idaho for a long time coming and I'm looking to gain some advice from you guys, swap stories, and cover some backcountry!

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good hunting in Idaho. What part of Idaho are you in and where do you plan on hunting?

Thanks, guys. I'm from the Boise area and I'm not sure where I plan to hunt yet. I'm still a ways out from buying a tag because I'm too darn broke to afford out of state!
I was thinking maybe somewhere out near Yellowpine. Did some backpacking out there recently and it looked like some great territory

Great state to move to
Wedding advise
On your wedding night, take your bride in your arms and tell her,
"Marriage is til death we do part. How long that is , is up to you."

Welcome! I too am a new resident of the Gem State and I can tell you from first hand experience, the best thing to do is listen, learn and get boots on the ground. Best of luck!

Congrats/condolences on the wedding. I hunted Idaho backcountry for the first time 4 years ago. I've been back every year since. It's an absolute hunter's paradise! Animals everywhere. I retire in about 4 months and I can't wait to move out there. F#%k California!
