Howdy, I used to hunt Mule dear and Elk in Colorado , have just been tied up with life the last 20 years, but my old passion has come back to life, I am planning a Elk hunt in Oct , I have been searching for a new tent, and have narrowed it down to either a 12 x 12 Alaknak or a 12 x 14 Davis wall tent, but if any of you can steer me in the right direction on here I would appreciate it, Thanks for having me .

Welcome to the forum! Our family is looking for a new tent as well and we decided to get the Alaknak, just haven't made the purchase yet. Should be getting it soon though

I have the Alaknak, it is a real nice tent. But there is something about a canvas wall tent that makes me smile. I know either use my camper or my backpacking tarp. As soon as go_deep put his tent up for sale, I almost got in my truck to drive to Cheyenne that morning. But a little voice in my head said "you don't need it" it's crazy how that voice in my head sounds like my wife.

welcome to the forum, i just ordered a 12x14 wall tent and four dog stove from davis tents last week. Chris davis was a super great guy to work with and was very reasonable also i thought.
