Hey everyone,

I'm a new member from Michigan. I spend most of my time hunting whitetail in my home state. I have been out west hunting on 2 occasions. First time was just for Antelope, and I scored a very nice animal. The second time was for Mule Deer and Antelope. On that trip our hunt was cut short to just two days because of a huge blizzard that came through and shut down the highways (Oct of 2013). I was able to take a nice antelope and a 4 x 4 mule deer but really could not hunt for a bigger buck like I had planned. I love coming out west and this style of hunting. It's a great change of pace from sitting on stand at home and only seeing a quality shooter or two per season. Getting out and walking and glassing and stalking is so fun. I'm an engineer and sales man in the work world and I'm married with two boys. I hope to get my boys out west when they are old enough to enjoy the beautiful scenery and do some hunting.

Steve

Nice intro Steve. Sounds like you've done well in the past. Not sure how old the boys are but you should look into buying points in WY for when they get older. Once again welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcomes, guys. My boys are 7 and 12. Buying some points is probably a good idea. My 7 year old actually seems a lot more interested than my 12 year old at this point, lol.

Welcome Steve, I am a yooper and I too was dealing with the storm of 2013. My boys and I had to drive around the storm we drove through ND and Montana and dropped in behind the storm. I still get sick to my stomach thinking about all of the cattle that died in the storm that were scattered around I90 on our way home. Again Welcome to the forum.
