Took my adopted senior out to our club last Friday. He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma last month and possible cancer on his right hand had all but given up. So i told him if your going to die it might as well be in the duck blind. Ended up with 2 Honkers, 2 Gadwalls, 1 Bluewing Teal (which is rare around here) and 1 spoonie. For a handful of moments he had no pain and he was so happy i thought i had a kid with me. Defiantly a highlight to start the season.
Myself and three others hunted Sunday and Monday during the Epic storm we had come thru and sometimes we get birds that we rarely, if ever see. Ended up with 34. This is a picture of the rarest duck we've ever seen here.
I was born & raised in southern California, lived there 58 year till I retired in 2000. My Dad owned several duck clubs in Imperial Valley. I used to hunt a lot at Tule Lake. We have some
pretty good goose hunting here, almost all Canadians.
