Well first of I want to give Jason,Joe,Austin,and the hounds a big THANKS!
This trip was awesome and I now have what I consider some great friends and a Nevada bear to boot-Hard to beat!
Austin is 8 year old animal-he did every hike and was right there the whole and was the first with the high fives.Jason might have a few issues with the mess in the back seat-but I would be very proud to have a son like Austin!
The first few days were slow and the bears changed locations but things changed the second afternoon when his dogs treed a heavy bear 300 yards inside private property but the right thing was done and we walked away.That bear took the dogs on a hell of a run!!
The next morning with tired dogs Joe's dog rigged and it was on.These dogs are amazing-Turbo was dead tired from the long chase the night before but there was no holding her and the others back.After three plus miles they had the bear treed.He was a excellent Nevada bear so we decided to take him.Fish and game was very excited at check in and commented on his big noggin and guessed him at 13 plus in age.
