Nevada Antelope

I will have 11 point for antelope going into this years draw. I live north of San Francisco(don't bad mouth me, I hate this states politics, taxes,etc, soon to leave!) and I'd like to hunt the north end on Nevada. Any suggestions on a good area,outfitter,etc would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely one of the hardest tags for a NR to draw, but I had a fun, very unique, DIY rifle antelope hunt in 021/022 north if Reno 2 seasons ago.

Based solely on stats, many of the areas in the northern third of Nevada have good bucks. With 11 points you have a competitive chance for many of them. The biggest challenge with hunting Antelope in Nevada is finding the big ones, sometimes even finding the pockets where they live in any one unit. Big country in big units means lots of driving, lots of glassing and of course lots of snacking behind a spotter.

If you draw the tag finding antelope in most any area is not too difficult. Like was already said finding a big one is the hard part but very doable.

Even with 11 points odds are pretty low for units north of i80, there are several outfitter in Nevada that seems to always produce good goats. Pm me and ill send you some names. Also might look for outfitter in the center part of the state and units along hwy 50.

You dont need a guide for antelope in any of the units up here. I live in 021 and see em everyday in all corners of the unit. My wife was lucky enough to draw 021 2 years ago and we had plenty of monster goats pegged. But any unit in the northwest region is a goldmine for pronghorn. 011, 012-014, any of the units in area 3. But deffinatly go 021/022 first choice

If you want to hire an outfitter save it for something hard to hunt.
I used to live in Wyoming and had some friends and family out for an antelope hunt. When we were unloading some of the critters, the taxadermist asked how much I charged the guys for their hunts.
It takes a lot of looking, then using the topography to get close enough for a shot.
Antelope are the most abused big game anima in America.. I do not like to see people banging away at 500 yards in the wind.
