I have been hunting the same unit for many years now, and have had fairly decent success. I really want to get out and scout during the spring time and summer months. The only problem is after the general season, I do not continue to watch the elk, therefore I have no idea where they winter or summer. Any suggestions on where to focus my attention when scouting these spring/summer months?

Welcome to the forum.

Summer months I would focus on water holes and hi higher up in the mountains. Winter focus on food sources. If they get pushed real hard during the hunting season they could go very far from where they summer. They more then likely would have some private ground where there is no pressure or they have a area with deep cover with a good food source and hold up there until the pressure is off.
