Picked up a bow press today on the cheap. Before I press my bow I'm looking for advice from those of u that know.....Does my bow appear compatible with this press. I've heard horror stories of bent risers and the like.

Sorry for poor picture quality.

From what I can see in the pic I don't think that style press handles parallel or beyond parallel limb style bows, could be wrong though. If it doesn't work it looks like it could easily be modified to handle parallel limb bows, AT has a ton of threads on press builds.

I am not positive that press will work for Par a limbs.....I have the EZ stlye press. Also, DO NOT press it like it is in the picture. You need the pressure to be on the limb tips, not where the riser meets the limbs.

Do you have anyone local that you get to come assist you on your first few presses of a bow? Also, I used an old beater bow to learn everything on. Even if you have to pay $50-$75 for one at a pawn shop, it will be worth it to practice on all winter!!

Good luck!

Whoa!!! Not the right press for that bow!!! Great press but it will break that bow. You need a parallel bow press where they open up wider allowing the press to contact the limb tips.

Thanks guys. I won't press it. I put my sons Mathews genesis pro in it. And it fit like a glove. I will work on his bow. Tinker and learn. It needs new strings and cables.
