My 2015 season

No luck in the draws this year so I was all in for d3-5. A archery antelope tag in Nevada took up most of my d3-5 archery season but I was able to get out for the last two weekends. I saw some good bucks in the first area I hunted but I didn't have any luck getting on them. Here's a pic of one of them.

The final weekend of the season I got out for the last day. I hiked in several miles in the dark and got set up to glass. Shortly after daybreak I found 2 bucks across the canyon. One was a heavy old forked horn that I would love to put an arrow in. I spent most of the morning getting over to them and trying to put a stalk on, but eventually I got busted and he lived to see another day. I was packed to stay the whole day so I headed up and over the mountain to check another basin. Around 1 o'clock I was eating lunch and glassing when a buck appeared just a few hundred yards below me. I watched him for a few minutes until he bedded then made my stalk. 45 minutes later I was at 45 yards. Rifle season was tough to say the least. I got out every weekend for at least a day or two. I struggled all season to find a good mature buck. Finally the last weekend of the season I decided to shoot this buck which I had seen the week before but didn't make a play for. All in all it was a great season, I got to spend a bunch of time in the high country and learn some new spots. Can't wait to do it again in 2016.DSCN1542_zpsgsug1q9a-1.jpg

Those are great California bucks ! You really know how to get 'er done ! Hard to beat your last year's buck but these two are in the same class. Good job !

Nice work on some great bucks. I spent some time in that zone over the summer saw some dandy bucks even a few muleys. I burned my CA pnts this year maybe I'll try out d3-5.
