So I'm looking at options in the future for muleys. Unit 27 by challis looks really awesome i love the high country, if I'm reading right the rifle opens around September 15? And is it over the counter tags? Looking to go early high country every year. Getting tougher to draw Wyoming of course. Any info to get me pointed in the right direction.

It's not a good hunt early. In November and can be good. I would look at unit 67.

Unit 48 looks nice too!

Get started earning points in Wyoming. It will take a few for G. Region H has a lot of wilderness and you need a guide in WY to hunt that. You can still buy points until the end of September.

We have a point and have hunted h once. And headed back to f for a second time this year. But would like to hunt a spot every year if it's even possible. Not sure yet which are all over the counter in Idaho yet.
Sure wish we could hunt h every year, but I'm sure every non resident does.

Thanks! So is there unlimited tags or first come first served kinda deal? I sure can't find any of that info on the site. I will have to call them and try and get it figured out also.

they don't do the greatest job at keeping it up to date. to my knowledge its a statewide quota on general deer tags, not any unit specific for deer. they rarely sale out of NR deer tags, I buy myself one every once in a while just to hunt 2 deer.

Thanks again, I'm still digging around. I see non resident needs a hunting license and a tag. Licence is $154 and tag is $301, if I'm reading it correctly. That's kinda weird.

$20 for archery stamp or muzzleloader stamp if you intend to hunt any seasons outside of any weapon
