How many of you guys that pick up a mountain lion tag to have in case you happen to see one during your hunts have ever gotten lucky?
I've been buying one ever since I had a lion at about 40 yards during an archery hunt in the Ruby's 7 or 8 years ago and didn't have a tag and I wasn't fast enough with my camera.

I try and remember to get one. My buddy walked in on a lion on a spike bull kill and got a shot at him but missed! No I never gave him any grief about it ever! Ha

only once but worth buying em even if it never happens again. but it WILL happen again. had a chance once and didn't have a tag, never again. now I just buy the sportsmans package , which comes with deer ,elk , bear, lion, wolf ,salmon ,steelhead, turkey, blackpowder ,and archery permits for about $140.00 a year. costs roughly the same as if I only bought the tags for things I always hunt anyhow.

As a nonresident, no, not for the price they want.

My dad did buy a couple tags when we came down to hunt cats with dogs.

We did see 2 cats in O14, and no tag to shoot them. This was while scouting for deer.

Cats are around. We have em the neighborhood south of Carson City. Jarbidge has a lot of cats.
Cats are everywhere. I have yet to be on any large mountain ranges in NV and not find lion tracks. A friend of mine showed me a pic of a lion watching him in Carpenter Canyon in the Spring Mountains just outside of Vegas.
Our daughter's horse trainer had a horse killed by a mtn lion in Pahrump a few years ago.
