Moose spray?

Yep, bear spray works on moose. I encountered an aggressive cow with a calf at less than 10yards this evening. Ears back and hackles up she came after my wife and I and our dog. Both my wife and I sprayed it with bear spray. The cow stopped, shook her head and walked away with her calf. Pretty exciting for a few seconds! Saw this young bull and cow about a mile later!

I've never had to use my bear spray (yet), but did use the smaller canister O.C. multiple times as a police officer. I never used it on a person primarily because if you mace a guy, you will be arresting him and then putting him in your squad for transport. You may as well spray yourself while you are at it. Aggressive dogs were the target, and in each case the stuff worked. The older NS or CN (tear gas) wasn't as effective.
