Are you looking for eastern mule deer or western mountain hunting?
Here's what I did. I looked through the regulations to see what I wanted as far as quarry. Picked out a few hunting districts that might be interesting. Then I looked at animal population and harvest reports. From there I went to Google Earth and started narrowing it down from there. With that being said, one your first trip out there I'd have a plan B and C. Once ur out there talk to the locals. Most are really decent people. I got some really great leads that way. It may take a couple hunts to find an area that you like. It took me a couple trips to find the area that I like, now I'm gonna give some time and and learn it and see where it goes.

^^^^^ What he said. It's tough as a non resident living so far away. Makes scouting trips non-existent. And arriving early can be tough as the boss only gives you so much time away.
