I've got a good buddy in Montana who is gonna look for a new area in unit 301 for us to hunt deer and elk as a yearly backup after the draws. I was hoping someone could give me some info on the unit so I could start dreaming about it! Anything would be appreciated general population numbers, hunting pressure, terrain, just anything that will help me picture it in my mind. Of course specific areas to tell him to check would be great, but I don't expect an "x" on your Honey hole. We will probably be bow hunting, but might also 'stop by' during rifle if we should happen to tag out early somewhere else some year. If you have some free time, I sure would like to hear anything you guys know about the unit. Thanks!

There's very, very little game in there other than goats and bears. A ridiculous amount of day hikers from Bozeman as well, and you can't get far enough back to get away from them.
