I have had my head in the computer and the book for the last month and can?t seem to find out why Montana?s regulations are so confusing all i want to know is where i can hunt with a general tag any advise would be greatly appreciated it will be my first time doing a out of state diy.
Looking at units 210,211,213,216,315,314?

The regs are designed to keep people out - at least that's how it seems.

The regs are designed for the person that already knows where they want to hunt, pick the hunt area you are interested in and then look up the requirements for that area.

The alternative (and probably the easiest way) is to call the FWP office and ask them what you need to do.

In the regulation section, under the specific unit, if it says general then you?re good to go. If it List how many permits are available then you had to draw.

I apply for most western states and MT's regs are another level of complexity. This is my first year applying for points in MT and I'm having a hell of a time figuring out what points to buy.

All you have to do is look up what unit in the detailed descriptions and it will tell you whats valid in the area. All the areas you have listed are general and you can hunt archery or rifle.
