The Monsoons are here! Pretty cloudy yesterday, but today lightning, thunder and the skies opened up. Rained for 3 hours or so. I am sure it really helped the fire fighters that are up there in the La Platas fighting the fire nearest me.

Also cooled down from the 90's to 60 right now. Very comfortable!

We're not in fire danger here in the Midwest, but we got hit pretty hard with flash flooding and heavy rains last night. Average temps been 90-95 so the rain was a welcome relief with a cooler 80 degree weekend. About everything is dead...

I reckon we had the storms you had a day or two earlier. The heat this year has been aweful. Here's some picks from around our town from the storm damage (not my house).

Got about 1/2" yesterday. Raining right now. More forecast for the next 3 days.
That's good news to hear. I'm glad there is finally some relief in sight. May the Lord send some to the rest of the southwest, I know they sure could use it. I saw on another forum where parts of NM were getting up to 2 inches, I was hoping that was up in your area too.

Now they are thinking about putting up flash flood alerts and evacuating homes because of the rain.

From one extreme to another.

I remember working down in Durango around 20 or so years ago and when the monsoons hit nothing stayed dry. If they hit this year even half as bad as it was that year the mountains that burnt will be down in the valleys.

It has rained 4 nights in a row and fixin to rain again this afternoon. Wind blew so hard last night that it blew down limbs over the elec lines and power was out 2 hours. It also blew over 3 hybrid cottonless cottonwood trees on my neighbors place.

It looked like there were scattered storms all across the SW yesterday. NV, AZ, UT, NM, and the western 2/3 of CO. Hopefully you'll get to change your forum name to mudclod Az soon!
