great pic, use to see those things all the time. the other day up in the mountains I seen one fluttering around and it dawned on me I hadn't seen one for a long time, we use to catch those things all the time as kids.

I've wondered the last few years where monarchs went. It used to be a class project for every single student to bring in a monarch caterpillar and now I don't think I could find one if I had to.

Does anybody know where they are all going? At the same time, it seems like I see more swallow-tails butterflies than I used to.

Great pic. Not to get all sentimental and all but, my brother-in-law passed away 12 years ago next month and my in-laws somewhat memorialize him through a garden breeding butterflies. They are a symbol of those passed. They have a garden full of milkweed and are essentially breeding Monarch butterflies year round. Monarchs are very common here in the south and can't help but think every time I see one in the woods, which happens to be almost every time out, he is still hunting with me!
