Pulled an archery tag in Modoc, CA X3B zone. Was scouting last weekend at about 6300 ft., around Lassen Creek/Harris Flat, have some private property access there. Didn't see a thing. Moving on either Wilderness south or Dismal Swamp to the north. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Have never hunted that unit but did you see any antelope ? Drew 1st alternate for Big Valley hunt and F&G called me last Fri. to ask if I wanted the tag. Have to let them know by Mon. It's more around the X4 deer area when I looked at the map. X3B would be Surprise Valley antelope unit. Thinking maybe you drove through Big Valley/ X4 area.

Welcome to the forum sankwaimento. Awesome pulling a X3B tag and best wishes to you.

I was just south of C3 fishing for trout in Battle Creek south South West of X3B this past weekend. It hit 109 where I was but I did see a forked horn early in the AM while going out. I don't think I've ever hiked with a pack in that kind of heat yet to date. Hopefully the heat will let up a bit for you. Not much fun for me hiking in 109 degree heat at least. Hope you have a fun and successful hunt.

Is east side of highway to Oregon border. X3a is Westside. Dad had rifle in b last season. Didn't see any antelope. A couple real nice bucks. The lower country was full of atvs and people everywhere in the wilderness within 6 miles of every trailhead. pm me I have a spot or two to try. If anything stop in at the likely bar and say hey to Tom and have a cold one!

We pulled two bucks out of the dismal swamp areA. During archery there are some big boys running around ontop of mt. bidwell and just north aswell, just male sure you watch the state boundary lines.
