I had done a few DIY western hunts (without success), and after I retired I rewarded myself with a "Once in a lifetime" guided deer hunt. That trip was such an enjoyable adventure that this fall I am going on my 6th guided hunt. The experience gained on those hunts also gave me the how-to skills to be successful on a number of DIY hunts. Life's an adventure for sure.
I've stated this in the past, but it's worth saying again. CC, you're my hero.

Today I booked a guided M/L elk hunt here in Colorado. One of our Eastman Forum guys recommended this outfitter and after some research and a long phone call this morning, I'm going in 2018. The 2018 hunts are almost all booked and there was only one slot available for M/L. It is staying in a cabin and riding out horseback everyday from this cabin. I would have preferred the tent option, but no slots.

I am staying here in Colorado this year. I'll be applying for moose, desert sheep and elk. Points for deer and antelope. One other thing...shoulder is healing fast and I am getting an itchy trigger finger......
