I've been looking into buying a new early season day pack and was wondering if the packs with the mesh support that allows air to flow between your back and the pack really help keep you cooler?

Thanks

The only one I've seen that could possibly work was the Badlands superday if I got the model right. The mesh is like 3" off the pack.

Have an older Badlands pack with the mesh and 3" ish spacing, back then it was called a Hypervent. No idea if it even made now, or they may have changed the model to the super day WB mentioned.

I thought it would be the thing, but with a moderate load, for me, the balance was something I did not really like. But packs fit us all differently. It did work as advertised as far as venting, so have used it for 4-5 OR antelope hunts in Aug. over the years.

I have the super day and do like the space the mesh backing gives. I usually shove a water bottle in there cause I can take it out and put it back without removing the pack. Only problem is with that pack is the zippers suck! They will stop working and get stuck open. The teeth get cross threaded easy. I just looked at a new one the other day and the zippers are the same. I guess maybe some wax or somthing on the zippers might help. Other then that it's a good pack.

I rub parafin wax on sticky zippers. But Badlands will fix for you if broke. Sent one off last year, fair old pack, fixed, for free, and back in two weeks or so. Might want to give that zipper a good jerk, oops, off it goes...

I was going to send it in but went with a differant pack. The wax I'm sure would help but the zippers are shot now.

Glad to hear that they work. I've been looking at the Badland Sacrifice and Cabelas Scout pack. Is the zipper thing a common issue with Badland packs?

Thanks,

If you had a choice between the Cabelas pack and the Sacrifice for a day pack which one would you choose?

Thanks,
