Mallard Drake/hen Plumage mix

I've seen some mallard/pintail/woody mixes but never on like this. Has anybody saw this before? I shot this a couple days ago in eastern Nebraska.

Strange.. I wonder if he's just not done coloring up yet? A bunch of the drake teal we shot yesterday still had their eclipse plumage on their bodies.

I shot one identical to that a few years ago. The local waterfowl biologist said it was an immature male late in his eclipse...

Black Duck cross? maybe

otherwise mount it and put him next to the jackelope and platypus on the wall
