I assumed or thought it was 1 loyalty point every 5 years of applying, which in a way I think it should be...

but I was talking to a friend and he said you only get 1 loyalty point after 5 years... which would also disappear if you missed say year 8... only to start anew.

anyone know for sure?

one of these years maybe I'll be around for that safety course.

thanks!

Your friend is right. You get one loyalty point per species after 5 consecutive years. If you miss one you start over. But if you draw a tag you start over with 1 point instead of zero.

If you do the Hunters Ed point you would start over with 2 points after drawing.

This is correct, after living in Arizona for about 30 years and moved to Colorado this happened because I missed applying the following year. So, yes, 5 consecutive years you are awarded the Loyalty point.

Just to be clear, not only does the loyalty points but the hunter safety course. Also rolls forward into the future even after you draw so you essentially start with two points every time?
