Loon Creek Road??

I was wondering if anyone has an idea when this road is open and how late it closes, It's the road to Diamond D ranch in the Frank Church. I'm thinking about doing a little backpack hunting/fishing trip this fall and this looked as good as any. Thanks for any info!!

I was at the summit this October and there was about 10 inches of ice/snow but the road was passable. Hunters were pulling trailers up and into the wilderness area. I think by the end of October all bets are off but the last several years the snow has come late. My brother occasionally helps dig out the road to the ranch around Memorial day.

Thanks booomer!! I know this unit has a long season so I don't exactly know when we'll go but this helps a bunch.

I hunted up there for the day and didn't see much sign of anything. Very few tracks of deer or elk. Years ago the area was much better. Seems like more game down along the Salmon

Well I guess it's good there is a long season and 3-4 places that I can can access the unit from!! I've never been down Loon Creek before and that's why I wanted to go there. I've been in on Seafoam Rd and Sleeping Deer Mtn. Thanks again!!

Take some chains. When you drop down in there it probably doesn't melt off like the coming in side.

Is the road clear to diamond D?? Has anybody gone up to Indian springs?
