Looking for advice on Colorado GMU 41,42,421 for mule deer

I'm looking at trying to draw a tag for this area with a friend to hunt muleys this fall, probably 3rd season. We are both in pretty good physical condition, and not afraid to hunt hard or deep. We are considering backpacking in and hunting for 3 days, coming out for a day, and heading back in. Anyone who has any advice on hunting this area or how the herd has come through the winter I'd really appreciate it.

That is, without a doubt, the bbbbbiggeeesssst problem with late season hunts. Dont ever underestimate cold weather!!

Sounds like a great plan for an earlier season. Also deer are more likely to be on private land later in the year depending on the area and weather.
