I am in need of a rangefinder for rifle hunting for coyotes, deer and elk from 750 to 1500 yards.
I hunt for Nevada, Kansas and East Oregon and Washington open spaces and I need long distance capabilities. Any suggestions. Size and weight are not important. Monocular or binoculars are not important. I would like to leave less than $ 1250 if possible.
thank you

The bushnell elite 1 mile should work well under your price range.

You can also find G7 range finders USED on EBay for about what your looking to spend. Just be aware that they become inaccurate colder then 32 degrees.

The new G7 is good to 20 degrees but you will have to pend more then you want.

Ive gone through ALOT of budget long range finders. The new leupold RX 2800 rangefinder is amazing. I can easily range targets out to 1K in ALL conditions. Its a great rangefinder for under $500.

I've started hearing about the 1600 yard Leica Geovid HD-R rangefinding binos for around $1000. I have the Geovid HD-B version and absolutely love it. I'd think about going that route with your budget. I think it might have been Cameraland that had them.

I know you said binos aren't important but figured I'd throw that out. I've used mine in KS, WY, and AK and they have been great for me. Having the rangefinder and binos in one unit is fast and convenient. It lightens my load enough I pack my 15x Swaro SLC's more too and using them on the tripod helps me find more game.

The SIG rangefinders have been good performers and several will do what you need within your budget. They are a newer line, but are holding up well from what I hear. Myself, I only shoot to 600, so run a Leica 1000, it’s been great.

What he said....I used these once.....nothing compares or even comes close to clarity and how good the laser designator works.....IMHO

Leica rangemasters are a good choice for staying under your budget. Been doing long range for years with their 1600. But if your looking for long range capabilities you can?t go wrong with the Sig Kilo 2400 for a few hundred dollars more. It really is worth the investment and upgrade.
