Help educate me on the Wy left over tags. Are they OTC? Buck and doe? What kind of quality bucks would be realistic to find in the areas that are available.

mad dash Internet sale, 12" bucks. You can shoot 4 does for $165. Take a little time you can pick some good sized ones too. You need to draw 2 then get 2 as leftovers.

Ikeepitcold, from what I've seen after the draw; with few exceptions the areas that have buck (any antelope) tags left over are for the most part very hard to gain access to hunt. Private property/outfitter leased/ landlocked public land. Contact the regional G&F office to see what ranches may allow access (for a fee generally) in the areas you're interested in. I've seen many non-residents go home angry because permission wasn't secured BEFORE they bought their tags. If the area says "Difficult access" on the G&F website, it means...almost impossible. Just my 2 cents worth. Other Wyoming residents on the forum may shed more light.

Left over tags are first come first serve. They go on sale on the internet on a cretin day and time on DFG website. Some are gone within minutes and others dont sell out at all. Most leftover units will have some access issues. Just do some research on public land and access to it before you buy a tag and be sure to get good maps and a gps with a chip because the land ownership boundaries are generally poorly marked if at all. I have found the preview maps on mytopo.com are a good place to start to get an idea how much public land a unit has to start narrowing it down.
