Kryptek clothing pros and cons

Any feedback from those who have worn any Kryptek gear? How does it compare to Kuiu or Sitka? A lot of spin offs from these extreme gear companies. They have a new alpine camo scheme called Altitude.

Quality?
Cost?
Comfortable?
Customer Service?
Durability?

Any info on this stuff will be appreciated.
Thanks

when spending that much money for clothing it better come with a grade of A on all of the above that you mentioned. I don't even remember what pants I had now. they were comfortable, but wasn't happy with quality. customer service disappointed me. I had torn holes in them after a hunt. I sent them back and they sent me a new pair that was missing the knee pad straps and belt straps. and it took a long time to get them. I had a bad experience and haven't gave them another try but others seem to like them. my kuiu pants were a way better pant. the attacks.

Thanks for response. I have been looking at all 3 brands (Kuiu, Sitka, and Kryptek). I would prefer Kuiu in that my opinion is they are best bang for your buck. Problem is they don't make a long in the pants. I have 35-36" inseam and don't like high waters. Sitka is WAY expensive in my book however, I do believe you get what you pay for in most cases.
I like the new durable stretch material most these cloths are made of. I also like the fact you can layer depending on early, mid or late seasons.

Union Bay travel pant from Costco, $19. Same as the Prana stretch zion. If you like the concept you can stick with them or pay a bunch more for an upgrade to KUIU/sitka/etc.

Zippers went out on some Kryptek bibs last year. After 25 emails back and forth with many pics and customer service telling me what to try, they finally had me send them in and I got a new pair after 6 months. I like the cold weather bibs, but pretty pricey.

I have several pieces of Kryptek and have been happy with all. I really like their Highlander pattern as it blends in well with many environments. I hang my jackets on posts and look at them from various distances to see what really blends in well in different places and the Kryptek Highlander and Mossy Oak Brush have been the most versatile. Watching hunting shows where one hunter or guide has the Highlander pattern, and the other has the Sitka open country the Kryptek seems to blend better 80% of the time too.

My favorite thing of theirs is the Dalibor II jacket. I like everything about it but my favorite feature is the hood. It is the best designed hood I've seen and has zero interference with my peripheral vision while having pretty good protection. The Dalibor II pants are a bit heavier than others like my Sitka Ascent pants but are tougher and warmer.

All the companies have good stuff. I buy most of mine off Ebay or forums used, or off Camofire to get it at a price I can afford. Kuiu's sales are good too. I got to try a lot of different brands and weights of clothes this way and all seem to have their place. Core 4 Element has some good items too that are quite a bit cheaper. I like their upper base layers in the mesh and heavier weights because they are longer than most others and stay tucked really well.

I have many different brands of camo clothes. I believe the clothing really comes down to personal preference. I will tell you that kryptek won my early season vote. I love those valhalla pants. Price is good. You can pick them up on sale for 70 to 80 bucks and I swear it's like wearing pajamas that breathe. If you wore pajamas. I know tons of buddies that go through the clothing roller coaster (myself included) and they always go back to what's the most comfortable to them. The worst part is usually you dont get to use thousands of dollars worth of gear for free. But luckily there us so much good gear out there go through the reviews and you won't be unhappy

Personal, preference I can agree with however, field tested and real life abuse to our equipment is what I am looking for. The men and women on this forum spend millions of $ on hunting equipment every year. The testimony of members, and diversity of this group speaks volumes on advice and real life experiences.

If it was your money, what would you do? Do not sugar coat please.

Love my Kryptek Valhallas. Durable for as light as they are and comfortable. I wore my Alaios this season and love the durability and amount of pockets. They also have the knee pad inserts. They are warmer than the Valhalla. All my Kryptek stuff I have gotten on sale. Not as impressed with their tops although I would say they are still pretty good. Have some Kuiu stuff as well, which does seem to be made better, with better materials. Plus Kuiu is the only company I know of that uses thigh zips in their pants. Really makes a difference to help dump heat when moving.

I forgot to mention that the Alaios pants can be used with suspenders which I really like especially under a pack. I've used all the major brands and think those two Kryptek pants are great, especially when on sale. For the money Kuiu is great if you need light weight bang for your buck. As in backpacking or where you are limited to how much clothes you can bring. In my opinion if you are hunting from camp where weight and amount of clothing isn't a factor and you dry out or change what you brought, it really doesn't matter. When I'm at my buddy's cabin I will just wear whatever I got on sale, Cabelas, UA, etc. Sorry if this was a long response

Thanks for the input and experience. With the cost of quality clothing and gear, i want weed out the gimmicks. I hunt both Archery and rifle. So early September into November. High alpine meadows to high desert sage. I like to think I put gear to the test.

Had a bit of trouble with customer service at Kryptek. Sent a couple items back for a refund. After monitoring the FedEx shipment and seeing that my package was delivered a couple of weeks went by without any credit back to my Visa. Finally called and spoke with a representative, won't mention name. that was a bit of a smart alec. He finally found my original order# but couldn't find where my items were logged in as returned. I was told he would check with the warehouse and return my call with an update. Few days went by without a response. I called back and spoke with the same person. He acted as if this was the first time he was aware of the situation. I told again he would look into the issue and call back. He did call back and my items were located in the warehouse. This was a Thursday and was told my reimbursement on the credit card would be completed by Monday at the latest. Monday came and went along with the next week and a half and still no credit was reimbursed back. Sooo, I picked up the phone once again. Was told the accounting department was "very busy" so I should wait. The credit finally appeared a week later. My bank posted the credit the day it was received. After that mess I have not reordered from Kryptek. I did order a First Lite jacket and all went very well. I spoke with First Lite before I placed the order and had a great experience with their customer rep. The jacket is great quality and I will buy First Lite in the future. As a side bar, try Duluth Trading. I bought and used a pair of their nylon stretch "Dry on the fly" pants. Most comfortable, durable, pants I can remember using on a hunt. I bought the lined and wore them from Sept. - Nov. with proper next to skin base layer.

That sucks. Customer service is huge! Obviously if the durability was good there would be no need for customer service. I have heard quite a bit about having to return Kryptek stuff. Was it zippers or tears or what??

I haven't had any issues with Kryptek gear wearing out. Dan and I both have tested the tar out of their stuff this past year and like it a lot.
