Does anyone have a style or brand of knee brace they have found that work well with hunting. I have used those cheap compression sleeves but they just bunch up cut circulation after a while.

spend some money and did a good compression sleve, no matter what way you go it will be uncomfortable if your doing lots of hiking. ki figure if my knee is so bad I need something on it while hunting then it needs checked out.

What kind of brace are you looking for? Asterisk cyto cell braces are made for motocross racers which obviously may be too much for hunting but I would recommend them if you need a brace for large injuries. I use a basic sleeve style brace that stabilizes the patella. Mine right knee likes to dislocate if I twist wrong.

Im really just looking for a compression style that stays in place and isn't too hot. I had surgery 3 years ago and have good days and bad, and I can deal with some pain, I'm just looking for a little support to avoid another injury (and surgery).

Do you use trekking poles? If not I would try them. Loaded down heavy with meat or just covering ground the first thing that felt better were my knees.

Did you have Physical Therapy after surgery? If you did, I would go see the therapist for a recommendation.

I started this thread 3 months ago and it's ironic it just resurfaced. I just found out Friday I have to have surgery on the opposite knee. I tore my meniscus last week playing with my son. I'll talk to the orthopedist and physical therapist about a brace. I do like the idea of hiking poles.

I was told last week that I need a total knee replacement on my right knee because it is bone on bone since they took out my torn meniscus. Surprisingly, a hinged knee brace does lessen that pain much more than I expected. I haven't figured out why, but it does.

There are several good ones but don't let your doctor sell you one for 4X the price on Amazon. Here's a highly rated one http://www.amazon.com/Medical-Advanced-Hinged-Patella-Support/dp/B001M0A4J4/ref=sr_1_2?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1463347217&sr=8-2&keywords=hinged+knee+brace
