My wife walked by when I was looking at the last picture, and she asked what it was. I said it is either a guy named ivorytip in a ghillie suit getting a drink out of a stream or it might be a porcupine running. She thinks it is a baby bobcat and my son thinks it is a sloth. We are a weird family...

Thanks for the pictures -- it looks like a great day.

ok guys, im in a little bit of legal trouble and am sickened to death! I shot a bobcat during archery season, and was tickled to death by it, was proud of it! took pics, sent pics, told everyone I knew. well..... turns out bobcats cant be hunted until December, no tag needed, just cant shoot them until December. I did not know this, I should have known this being how ive lived my entire life in the outdoors hunting and fishing. everyone I shared my good fortune with was happy and stoked for me, and they too were all life long avid hunters that didn't know there was a season for them. I go out of my way to abide by the laws laid out for the hunting world. always have! never would I have deliberately do something like that knowing better. but at the same time, I should have know, im not making any excuses, I should have known. when people come hunt elk I expect them to know all the laws and regs around hunting elk. in my ignorance I failed to follow that rule of advice. I take full blame for my wrong doing. when the fish cops showed up I was floored! now I feel like a criminal when I didn't realize I had done anything wrong. have to stand before the judge in two weeks and have know idea what to expect, im a little scared, and feel so stupid and foolish!!

All of us up here on the forum would vouch for you character... except for maybe a few of your closest friends. :) It was a totally honest mistake and I sure hope that is taken into consideration. We won't think anything less of you and hope you can just chalk it up to a learning experience and don't beat yourself up over it.

this happened last hunting season, judge was good to me and having a couple friends that's been with fish and game for a while that wrote a letter to the judge saved me I think. lesson learned! only had to pay $25 fine.

Wow! That wasn't the story I expected. Glad to see discretion leaned the proper direction.

Our cat laws here in SD are pretty complicated.

Tell the judge what u just told us. Things like this can happen, they are not intentional but happen. You seem like a great sportsman and I think the judge will be quite easy on you, I hope. Good luck

I missed this the first time around too, but ivorytip let us know that the bobcat incident happened last year and was handled fairly. It is a thing of the past and all but forgotten. Thankfully Ivory is free to roam the outdoors, in a ghillie suit or otherwise.

I agree with an jrod too, that picture of the bulls (beef kind) sparring through the fence is pretty impressive.

it was fun to watch, I kept trying to get a pic of them kicking the dirt up but I missed it each time I tried. that poor fence wasn't having fun.
