Dunno how many folks are aware of the JCRs, what they are; if they read them?

I guess I've known about them for awhile; but only recently taken them time to really read them.

The WYGF Job Completion Reports, described in my own words, fall under species headings and are reports with a biological/game management bent. They seem to focus on herd units; when considered for Big Game.

For those of you that read them, and live/or hunt in WY, how accurate do you feel the JCRs are in their assessments of herd health and management issues? The deer reports, particularly.

I found them interesting reading, esp the sections discussing "issues" in certain herd units. [emoji4]

I think they are pretty accurate but conditions during winter counts can affect the data. Last winter we had perfect conditions for counting wildlife and got some great data.

They are pretty accurate, but often vague compared to other states like CO's DAU plans. They vary by biologist, too, as far as detail.

Been downloading and saving them for years.
Basemap (onx/gaia competitor) has the range layers as part of their pro subscription.
I like the idea of keeping them for comparisons over the years; would give an idea of how the management of a herd evolved. Might have to check Basemap out, that sounds like a kewl feature. I already plot the ranges and migrations in Google Earth; be useful to have that layer on the GPS in the field m
