Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with these boots?
I'm thinking about picking up a pair of uninsulated ones at the Rocky Mountain Discount Sports store in Sheridan
If I do get them and like them I believe I'll pick up pair of 400g insulated ones as well.

What a surprise that nobody has any experience with boots that are not the ones everyone here talks about. You know what I'm talking about, the $300-$500 boots that seem to be all the rage. I've always used good old fashioned made in America Red Wing boots and have found them to be incredibly durable. I've had pairs in the last 35 years. The only drawback is that they are not waterproof, but then they were never advertised as such. The last pair I bought was just over $200 back in 2001 and I thought that was very expensive, but given how long they last I guess not.

I can't speak to that exact model, but have some Irish setter boots, they've lasted longer than any other boot I've owned. One pair is around 10 years old and going strong.

Any decent pair of boots is going to run$225-250 these days in my opinion. I'd rather pony up the extra $150 and get nice European boot than Chinese garbage.

Does Red Wing make a hunting boot? Or just work boots?
