I purchased these boots from Cabelas 12 years ago. I have used them alot to say the least. I bought them at their outdoor sale so for 25 bucks so they didn't have original tags.

Here is what I know:

Says "Made in Italy" on the tag inside. The only other tag is the size.
They have a skywalk sole. (Which I think is awesome)
Only name on the side is Cableas
Full Leather enclosed tongue all the way to the top.
Nobody at Cabelas can tell me what it is.

They are still holding up but know that I am going to need knew boots soon. So would like to know who made these for cableas.

Cali if you could find it I that would be great. I have done every google search I can think of. I have taken it to Cabelas and they guy just went.. yea that is a nice boot.. I don't know what it is. The think I like most about the sole it that it is flat all the way across.. Does not have the block under the heel and it has a great arch.

That is what I found but vasque doesn't have a boot that looks remotely like it. I had asked Cabelas and they said they didn't use Vasque.. so I am lost. They are probably the best boot I have ever put on my foot. They are extremely warm and offer great support. I am hoping that someone on here has a pair or knows what they are. It probably doesn't matter because Cabelas doesn't sell them any more and it was probably special made. But the skywalk sole does a lot for it. They are about 11 inch from bottom of sole to top of leather. Offer Great support.

From what I found on the internet is it could be the Cabela's Mountain Hunter. It was a boot that was made in Italy. It was supposedly made by the same company that makes Kenetrek boots. So maybe check those out.

Thanks for the link and and ssliger.. I believe you may have found it based on what I found when I typed in cableas mountain hunters. They timin that they went away is about right. I have tried every google search I could think of so thanks. I really liked those boots obviously. I had looked at kennetreks but I keep reading about heel slippage issues. So I am looking at Hanwags pretty hard. I learned after buying these boots that you really get what you pay for. Granted.. I paid 25 bucks... but they were a lot more expensive retail.
