So you took my tag[emoji23]!!Bull or cow? Lots of private land. But also lots of public land. Good maps are a definite must! You will find elk. Outfitter might be good for you. I live in the unit so no outfitter for me!!!
Sorry I took your tag. It's a bull tag. I put in for muzzle loader mule deer hunt as my first choice, and my buddy that lives out there suggested I put in for something else. He told me to try for 40, and the rest is history.
He lives 2 hours from the unit so he's gonna do some leg work for me. I might plan a scouting trip if I can. I'm super pumped. Couldn't believe it when I found out I got the tag.

Good friend of mine lives 2 hours from the unit. He's gonna do some leg work this summer , then hopefully I'll be able to make a scouting trip out there prior to my hunt. Any insight on when the best possible dates may be? Season is Oct 15 to Nov 24.

I personally prefer later in nov over oct. weather can get nasty and cold but they also tend to be on winter grounds by then
