Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you guys have ever hunted this unit and if I could receive some info on the hunt! I just got the results in the mail saying I was successful on this once in a life time tag. I am going to be bow hunting and have time to do two 10 day trips if needed I'm not going to hold out for a monster but I definitely want to get a bull thats worth it. The average bull is 40.5" for the past 5 years and I'd like to meet or succeed the average. Thanks!

congrats on the tag man. your area covers a lot of private property that hold huge bulls. try to get access! also a lot of public grounds in that unit. that area is a largely popular summer activity area with lots of people, be it fishing hiking dirt biking or whatnot. in a ten day time frame you should have no prob closing the deal on your expectations. I plan on doing some fishing up that way in next couple of weeks, and do some hiking around. ill pm ya some info later. congrats again. tell us about yourself dustin
Thank you very much ivorytip, I'm excited because this is my first year sending in for controlled hunts out of state. I've only done OTC. I pulled a NM 2b tag as well as my moose. I'm an avid bow hunter and also love working on bows. I shoot a Hoyt element and probably just like you guys, I am absolute hunting addict. Hunting Shiras moose has been my dream and I found out I drew the tag my first time ever applying on my 23rd birthday just last Friday and damn near cried I was so excited. I am going to make a trip out next month to scout around for about 5 days and that's when I'll ask some landowners for permission. Are you aware of the names of any landowners?
